Off to the States

Just a quick post to let people know I am off to the states tomorrow for a week. Fair Jewellery Action in the USA and Ethical Metalsmiths are hosting a behind closed doors dialogue with key players from within the US Jewellery sector. Our aim is to discuss, plan and hopefully execute a strategy within the US industry that will lead to the broad adoption of traceability and transparency as normal practice. Alongside to discuss how we are going to introduce the certified Fairtrade and Fairmined Gold supply chain in the mix.

Its a very promising development and I am optimistic about the outcomes,as the people round the table are not just business people, they also represent broader civic society. More will follow shortly…

Hello there, I live in the US and I am trying to find a jeweler that sells fair mined gold rings here. Thus far I see only UK retailers. Could you point me in the right direction? thanks.

Dear Caitrin, your timing is impeccable. A group of jewellers in the US have just decided to work on the introduction of the Fairtrade gold in to the USA for 2012. if you email me on, I will introduce you to the right people so you can be added to the list of inaugural jewellers who are part of the launch
