Just a quick post to let people know I am off to the states tomorrow for a week. Fair Jewellery Action in the USA and Ethical Metalsmiths are hosting a behind closed doors dialogue with key players from within the US Jewellery sector. Our aim is to discuss, plan and hopefully execute a strategy within the US industry that will lead to the broad adoption of traceability and transparency as normal practice. Alongside to discuss how we are going to introduce the certified Fairtrade and Fairmined Gold supply chain in the mix.
Its a very promising development and I am optimistic about the outcomes,as the people round the table are not just business people, they also represent broader civic society. More will follow shortly…
